Preamble
These general terms and conditions of sale govern any reservation made on the website www.hotel-etats-unis-opera.com by a client acting in a personal capacity. They supplement the specific conditions applicable to the chosen rate.
1. Definitions
CLIENT : a natural person of legal age making a reservation for their personal use. HOTEL : Grand Hôtel des États-Unis, trading name Hôtel États-Unis Opéra. SITE : www.hotel-etats-unis-opera.com GTCS : General Terms and Conditions of Sale. Confirmation email : message summarizing the order and its conditions. Specific rate conditions : rules for payment, modification, cancellation, and guarantees. Flexible rate : cancellable without charge up to 24 hours before arrival. Non-cancellable/non-refundable rate : non-modifiable, non-refundable. Services : accommodation services and ancillary services.
2. Subject
The GTCS define the rights and obligations of the CLIENT and the HOTEL within the framework of reserving hotel services via the SITE. They prevail over any other document.
3. Description of Services
The essential characteristics of rooms, rates, services, and ancillary benefits are presented on the SITE. Photos and descriptions may contain minor variations without engaging the responsibility of the HOTEL.
4. Reservation
4.1 Process
The CLIENT selects dates, rooms, and rates, provides personal and banking information, accepts the GTCS and the specific conditions of the rate, and validates the reservation.
4.2 Conclusion of the Contract
The reservation is considered firm upon receipt of the confirmation email sent by the HOTEL. The CLIENT undertakes to verify its accuracy and inform the HOTEL of any error immediately.
5. Rates and Payment
5.1 Rates
Rates are indicated in Euros, including VAT. They do not include the tourist tax, which is to be paid on-site. The HOTEL reserves the right to modify its prices at any time. The rate applied is the one in force at the time of reservation.
5.2 Payment
Payment conditions depend on the chosen rate:
- Flexible rate : payment is made at the HOTEL upon arrival or departure. A credit card is requested as a guarantee.
- Non-cancellable/non-refundable rate : full payment is taken at the time of reservation.
6. Cancellation or Modification by the CLIENT
Conditions for cancellation or modification are specified during the reservation and in the confirmation email. In case of a non-refundable rate, no refund will be made. For a flexible rate, any cancellation after the deadline (24 hours before arrival) will result in the billing of the first night. In case of a "no-show" (reservation not cancelled and CLIENT not present), the total amount of the first night or the entire stay (depending on the rate) will be billed.
7. Stay at the HOTEL
Rooms are available from 3:00 PM and must be vacated by 12:00 PM on the day of departure. The CLIENT agrees to use the room in a reasonable manner and to respect the internal regulations of the HOTEL. Any behavior contrary to public order or morality may result in the termination of the contract.
8. Liability
The HOTEL is responsible for the proper execution of the services. It cannot be held liable for any indirect damages or in cases of force majeure. The CLIENT is responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their companions within the HOTEL.
9. Modification of the GTCS
The applicable GTCS are those in force at the time of reservation. Subsequent versions apply only to future reservations.
10. Evidence Agreement
The HOTEL's electronic records constitute admissible evidence, including in the event of a dispute.
11. General Provisions
If a clause of the contract is declared void, this nullity does not affect the validity of the other clauses, which continue to apply. The fact that one of the parties does not exercise a right does not constitute a waiver of exercising it later. In the event of a discrepancy in interpretation, only the French version of the contract shall prevail and may be invoked against the parties.
12. Personal Data
During the reservation, the CLIENT is redirected to the platform HOTELPARTNER SA, Chemin de la Source 5, CH-1009 Pully, Switzerland. Data necessary for the reservation is processed in accordance with the HOTEL's Privacy Policy and that of HOTELPARTNER SA. The full privacy policy is available on the SITE.
13. Applicable Law – Disputes
13.1 Applicable Law
The contract is subject to French law.
13.2 Mediation

13.3 Competent Jurisdictions
Failing an amicable agreement, the courts of Paris shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring the matter before the jurisdiction of their place of residence.
