How Parisians Spend Their Weekends

If you've ever wondered what Parisians get up to in their natural habitat, come along with us! We're letting you in on all their weekend secrets.

🍎 A Morning at the Market

For many Parisians, the weekend begins with a trip to the local market. It's one of those cherished Saturday or Sunday morning traditions. In almost every Parisian neighbourhood, you'll find stalls overflowing with seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheeses, fresh fish, flowers and regional specialities. Parisians love taking their time to pick out the ingredients for their meals throughout the week.
But shopping at the market isn't just about the food. It's also about the lively, welcoming atmosphere and the charming village feel it brings to the city.
To experience this slice of authentic Parisian life, head to the market closest to the hotel: Marché Saint-Honoré, just a 4-minute walk away, held every Saturday morning.

📌 Marché Saint-Honoré: Place du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris. Open from 7 am to 3 pm.

🌳 A Leisurely Stroll Through the Park

Despite being such a bustling city, Paris is home to countless parks and gardens where locals love to unwind. Whether it's reading a book, enjoying some fresh air, going for a run, having a picnic or simply people-watching, these green spaces are an essential part of Parisian life. The two parks closest to the hotel are the Tuileries Garden, just an 8-minute walk away, and the more intimate Palais-Royal Gardens, only 10 minutes away. And the best part? Not only are they right on our doorstep, but they're also two of our absolute favourites!

🍷 Apéro: The True Start of the Weekend

If there's one scene that perfectly captures a Parisian weekend, it's this: a few friends, drinks in hand, with hours of conversation ahead of them. From Canal Saint-Martin to the banks of the Seine and Canal de l'Ourcq, Parisians love making the most of the last hours of daylight outdoors, celebrating the start of the weekend. Students, young professionals, families and neighbourhood regulars all come together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
While some gather for an impromptu apéro along the riverbanks, others settle down at a café terrace to share a platter of cheese and charcuterie over a few drinks.
If you'd like to experience a true Parisian apéro yourself, we highly recommend heading to Rue des Martyrs, just two metro stops or a 20-minute walk from the hotel! With its quintessential Parisian charm, cosy cafés and lively terraces, it's the perfect place to enjoy a drink at the end of the day and soak up the neighbourhood's friendly atmosphere.

🥞 Brunch: A Weekend Ritual Parisians Can't Resist

If there's one thing that can tempt a Parisian out of bed on a Sunday morning, it's brunch! A favourite subject for Instagram photos and an essential part of the Parisian weekend, brunch has become something of a ritual in the French capital.
So, if you'd like to embrace this delicious tradition too, there's no need to go searching for the latest trendy brunch spot.
Served until 10:30 am, our hotel's breakfast has everything you need to create your very own brunch experience: golden, freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit juices, homemade smoothies, fluffy pancakes, eggs cooked just the way you like them, and a tempting selection of hot and cold dishes... All that's left to do is choose!

🪑 Sunday Treasure Hunting at the Flea Market

In France, and particularly in Paris, Sundays are traditionally all about flea markets, second-hand sales and vintage treasures. These events regularly pop up in streets and squares across the city. At weekends, many Parisians set off in search of that one special find that catches their eye. Treasure hunting is almost a way of life here. Locals love wandering between stalls, rummaging through boxes and discovering an old book, an antique mirror or a charming little object that's as delightful as it is unnecessary. From neighbourhood flea markets and pop-up second-hand sales to the famous Saint-Ouen Flea Market, there are endless opportunities to hunt for hidden gems.
