Our tips for keeping cool this summer!
From shady parks to air-conditioned tours, this month we’ve come up with all the tips you need to keep cool and make the most of summer in the capital.
Descending into the catacombs

It’s hot in Paris, so it’s the perfect time to descend 20 m underground, into this labyrinth of underground passages, in the heart of the Paris catacombs. Located in the 14th arrondissement, it’s 14 degrees all year round! These underground galleries were used as catacombs from the end of the 18th century, when it was decided to close all Parisian cemeteries for health and hygiene reasons.
You can buy a ticket for €29, which includes an audioguide (normally €5). The cost is still considerably higher than that of the “normal” ticket (€14), but it saves you from queuing, which can be long!

Cooling off at the Jardin d’Acclimatation

A favorite of many a Parisian in search of a refreshing change of scene: the Jardin d’Acclimatation, in the Bois de Boulogne. To cool off, take advantage of its fountain, numerous water jets and misters, as well as its gardens. Admission is 5 euros.
And if you still want to enjoy the fresh air, head for the Fondation Louis Vuitton, dedicated to contemporary art, just a few yards away.
Until August 29, the artist Simon Hantai is in the limelight on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, as is the exhibition “la couleur en fugue”, focusing on the free expression of color, on supports invading the whole space. Impressive!

Bubbling at the Paris Aquarium

In the gardens of the Trocadéro, in the heart of Paris, the Paris Aquarium offers you a cool dive into the marine world! Let yourself be hypnotized at the Médusarium, home to all manner of slowly moving jellyfish species, all around you.
Shiver around the huge main tank, which houses 32 shark specimens in 3 million liters of water. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of their meal!
